Whitstable is an excellent base from which to explore more of Kent over the course of a few days. Margate, Faversham, Broadstairs and Canterbury are all within easy reach, and train station and bus stops are within minutes of No. 9
If you’re spending a weekend here, then perhaps do a cycle ride to Canterbury (just seven miles away) Go from cloisters to oysters with seven miles of almost traffic-free cycling along the scenic Crab and Winkle Way bicycle path, which covers a delightful part of east Kent, including an RSPB nature reserve and the popular Clowes Wood. Or …take a walk to Whitstable Castle and then Tankerton Beach.
